Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Computational Research Assistant (Seasonal) for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the School of Engineering. Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Leverages advanced AI/ML to build predictive models for the environmental impacts of hydroclimate extremes, such as severe storms, droughts, and heatwaves. Manages Big Data analytics involving remote sensing and climate/hydrologic model outputs to develop new predictive workflows. Maintains the codebase on Git Hub and present progress at weekly group meetings.

Salary Details - $23 per hour

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong background in AI/ML. Proficiency in Python and data analysis. Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in the field.
