Postdoctoral Associate - M-EASE Project
The Modeling Equitable and Accessible Spaces for Everyone (M-EASE) project in the Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive Science is seeking a post-doctoral associate for an NSF-funded project on the social, environmental and linguistic factors that affect human way finding.
Working with the PI and co-PIs in computer science, psychology, applied math and architecture/design, the postdoctoral fellow will be intimately involved in all aspects of the research, including the conceptualization, design, performance, analysis, and modeling of the results of VR experiments, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
A doctoral degree in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, computer science/engineering, language sciences, or a related field is required, as well as strong quantitative and programming skills. Experience with virtual reality development, machine learning, or advanced data analyses and modeling are highly desirable.
Position status is full time. The salary range is $62,000 - $80,900, and the final offer may be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. The research will primarily be conducted in the Busch Psychology Building on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University in suburban Piscataway, NJ, with commuting access to New York City, Princeton, and Philadelphia. Some research may be conducted at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark NJ.
