Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for Dr. Anat Kreimer's laboratory at the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM), located on the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) campus in Piscataway, New Jersey. The expected start date for this Postdoctoral Associate position is September 1, 2026.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Associate is to conduct research on characterizing non-coding regulatory elements in humans and understanding how these elements change across different conditions. The project will involve developing new modeling approaches for coupling functional genomics techniques with computational analyses to understand gene regulation in health and disease. Such models are based on multi-omics high-throughput assays, either performed by the Postdoctoral Associate or by others in the research group, by collaborators in other groups or from publicly available datasets.
The project may also involve use and development of software programs for analysis of multi-dimensional epigenetic, transcriptomic, genetic and functional genomics data. The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to participate in the configuration and maintenance of data bases necessary for conduct of the project. It is expected that research will lead to publications and the Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to prepare manuscripts as well as contribute to the preparation of grant and fellowship applications.
The Postdoctoral Associate will also be expected to guide the research project of undergraduate research assistants.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
