Furthermore, the individual will also optimize a hemp transformation and genome editing platform. Research is carried out in the Zander laboratory, that conducts molecular, genetic and (epi) genomic research to better understand the role of transcription factors and the epigenome dynamics.
The individual needs to conduct research on questions related to powdery mildew resistance and susceptibility in hemp. By using genetic, genomic and biochemical methods, the individual will identify/analyze/characterize molecular determinants for powdery mildew resistance in hemp. The individual will report directly to the laboratory Principle Investigator (PI).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct grant-funded research as directed by the PI (Dr. Zander). This research will include performing genetic, (epi) genomics and proteomic analyses in hemp. It is expected that the research findings will be published, with the individual contributing to the writing and production of the resulting manuscript.
