Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the hotel’s physical plant and equipment. The role ensures all systems and equipment function efficiently and the property remains in optimal condition, meeting safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safety & Preventative Maintenance (50%)
    • Conduct routine preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, hotel equipment, and carpet care as scheduled.
    • Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned.
    • Assist with tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and other basic repairs.
    • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms; paint and finish as needed.
    • Provide general grounds keeping services: trash removal, pool and spa maintenance, grounds upkeep, kitchen equipment cleaning and service, and security rounds.
    • Maintain organized work areas and equipment; keep operating logs up to date.
    • Be knowledgeable and able to respond to emergency situations.
  • Maintenance Repairs (30%)
    • Assist in maintaining and repairing the exterior and interior of the property.
    • Use hand tools; paint or repair windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall.
    • Troubleshoot and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, televisions, and lighting.
    • Service the hotel’s pool: adjust chemicals, clean filters, maintain logs.
    • Maintain building exterior and curb appeal.
    • Coordinate with Front Desk, Bistro, and Housekeeping regarding guest needs.
    • Assist leadership in meeting maintenance benchmarks and customer satisfaction.
  • Guest Relations (15%)
    • Engage with guests in a friendly, customer‑focused manner.
    • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
  • Other (5%)
    • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff.
    • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain availability for scheduled shifts.
    • May participate in driver program or other hotel‑related duties.

Preferred Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, electrical and other guest room repairs preferred.
Job Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently.
  • Bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, climb, walk on uneven surfaces frequently.
  • Walk, climb ladders and work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Climb stairs inside and outside and frequently lift 50 lbs. and exert up to 20 lb. of force when moving objects.
