Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and reliable operations of mechanical and rotating equipment across Air Separation, CO₂, and Hydrogen production facilities
- Plan and perform major mechanical work including installation, maintenance, overhauls, inspections, and corrective/preventive/predictive tasks
- Maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment including centrifugal, reciprocating, and screw compressors; centrifugal and positive‑displacement pumps; turbines; synchronous and induction motors; and high‑speed gearboxes
- Maintain and troubleshoot process equipment including heat exchangers, cryogenic interchangers, chillers, cooling towers, and piping systems
- Provide on‑site or remote technical support to regional facilities for mechanical and rotating equipment issues
- Assist with turnaround planning and mechanical cost estimation for regional assets
- Identify and resolve chronic mechanical issues and eliminate recurring equipment failures
- Support root cause analysis for major mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
- Address high‑impact mechanical issues with urgency and technical accuracy
- Serve as regional mechanical reliability specialist supporting the Pittsburg, CA facility and multiple West‑region production sites
- Perform combined office and field work with approximately 30% domestic travel and required off‑hours accessibility
- Work in varied field conditions including accessing elevated equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man‑lifts, and crane baskets
- Minimum five (5) years of mechanical/rotating equipment maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing mechanical / rotating systems including compressors, turbines, blowers, and heat exchangers
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for industrial mechanical and rotating equipment
- Ability to use precision measurement tools and perform precision alignment on multi‑train equipment
- Ability to work independently and within technical teams to complete maintenance and reliability tasks
- Ability to manage multiple technical tasks with minimal supervision and maintain accurate documentation and records
- Proficiency with computers and standard software including MS Office, email, and related applications
- Experience using CMMS systems for work orders, asset history, and maintenance planning

Additional compensation may vary depending on the position and organizational level. Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $93,150 to $136,620.
