Assembly Supervisor
The Assembly Supervisor oversees daily assembly operations within a structured production environment, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role prioritizes workflow, coordinates jobs, and leads a team of assembly personnel through hands-on supervision, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Daily assembly oversight — Supervise assembly operations to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are consistently met.
- Workflow coordination — Prioritize and coordinate jobs across assembly areas to support productivity and on-time delivery.
- Performance monitoring — Track productivity, labor utilization, and throughput to identify improvement opportunities.
- Equipment setup — Ensure proper setup and operation of automated and manual equipment.
- Quality verification — Confirm production output meets specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Issue troubleshooting — Address operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Team development — Train, coach, and develop team members on processes, safety, and quality expectations.
- Performance evaluations — Conduct evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Documentation management — Maintain accurate production documentation reflecting actual production runs.
- Blueprint interpretation — Interpret job tickets, blueprints, and manufacturing instructions.
- Cross-functional collaboration — Work with engineering, quality, shipping, and purchasing to support smooth production flow.
- Safety enforcement — Enforce safety standards and company policies.
- Continuous improvement — Lead and support 5S and other improvement initiatives.
- Inventory monitoring — Track materials, tooling, and consumables to support uninterrupted production.
- Manufacturing leadership — Experience leading or supervising in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Production flow knowledge — Strong understanding of production flow and assembly operations.
- Quality standards — Experience verifying product conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Troubleshooting ability — Ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Coaching & feedback — Experience with coaching, performance feedback, and team development.
- Documentation proficiency — Skilled in production documentation and reporting.
- Blueprint literacy — Ability to interpret job tickets, blueprints, and manufacturing instructions.
- Lean/5S exposure — Familiarity with Lean and 5S practices.
- Safety compliance — Knowledge of OSHA-related safety requirements.
- ISO 9001 experience — Experience working in ISO 9001 or similar quality-management systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Automated & manual supervision — Experience supervising both automated and manual assembly processes.
- Cross-functional teamwork — Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, shipping, and purchasing.
- Communication skills — Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburg, CA.
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
