The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing our railroad services group's contracts and processes. This includes creation, review, editing, analyzing, and preparing for execution. An important duty of this position is the tracking and proactively managing the contract process from inception to completion.
Required Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in pre-law, political science, business administration, or related field, or minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar role
- Very organized individual who is capable of managing their own work with minimal oversight
- Experienced in creating, reviewing, editing, advising, and negotiating contract terms and conditions
- Has experience in the railroad industry or similar industry
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe-Pro, and similar document creating programs
- Capable of learning and implementing new processes that support both multiple parts of our business, especially sales and operations
- Comfortable and capable of interfacing with leadership and customers with integrity and sound business practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Responsible for managing contracts and related documents such as warranties, NDAs, Letters of Intent, restocking or consignment agreements, license agreements, notice to proceed, request for amendments, joint-venture and partnership agreements, purchase orders, sub-contracts, SAAS agreements, service agreements, RFP/RFQ responses, and any other contractual documents that support the railroad services group of divisions.
- Duties include reviewing documents to ensure transparency and thorough understanding of contract terms and timelines that enables and strengthens accountability throughout the sales process
- Proactive renewal management to reduce lapses in contracts
- Support visibility into asset status, maintenance schedules or expirations in an effort to be more proactive in sales and service opportunities
- Responsible for and supports routing contracts for approval and ensuring compliance with industry norms and protocols
- Responsible for tracking and reporting status of current and planned contractual agreements
- Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert for advisement to our leadership team to ensure understanding of contractual obligations and commitments
- Capable of drafting and red-lining contracts and documents communicating business related matters
- Keep records organized and filed at all times.
