Key Responsibilities

Deliver accurate and compelling weather forecasts with an emphasis on impactful and inconvenient weather conditions.

Create innovative, engaging weather content that adds value and captures attention across all digital, streaming, and broadcast platforms.

Translate complex meteorological data into clear, accessible explanations, highlighting the “why” and relevance behind your forecasts.

Actively contribute to the KOAM+ streaming app, KOAM website and social media channels, fostering strong audience interaction and feedback loops.

Provide urgent weather updates and critical information both from the studio and on location during severe weather events.

Partner with Master Control/Programming/Operations to troubleshoot and prevent missed/incorrect airs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in meteorology.

Confident and engaging on‑air presence with a conversational and relatable delivery style.

Proficiency with WSI weather systems is preferred but not required.

Experience is preferred, particularly with forecasting severe weather systems.
