Assistant Instructional Professor - Clinical Psychology

The Pittsburg State University Department of Psychology and Counseling ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is accepting applications for an Instructor of Clinical Psychology committed to high-quality teaching for a full-time, non-tenure position. Position begins on August 10, 2026 and will include undergraduate teaching, graduate teaching, and mentoring. The instructor will be supporting the Clinical Psychology Masters program, which prepares masters-level practitioners to work in underserved areas.

Specific courses will depend upon areas of expertise and/or experience but may include Personality Assessment:
Adult, Personality Assessment:
Child, Research Methods I and II, and/or other courses as assigned. Scholarly activity in clinical psychology is desirable and service to the department, college, and university is required.

* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (based on need and expertise)

* Mentorship of undergraduate students

* Supervision of graduate students

* Maintain active research agenda

* Involvement in professional organizations

* Service to the department, college, university, and community

* Commitment to student success

* Participation in recruitment and retention efforts

Education and Experience

Required

Education and Experience - Time of Hire
- * Ph.D. or Psy.

D. in Clinical Psychology (ABD will be considered)

* Licensed or license-eligible in Kansas

Candidate's must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.

D. in Clinical Psychology degree or related field. This degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
