Assistant Instructional Professor - Music Education

The Department of Music at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a non‑tenure track position in the areas of music education. The university is an accredited institutional member of NASM and offers a Bachelor of Music degree with three emphases (performance, music education, and music with elective studies in an outside field), as well as graduate programs in performance, music education, and conducting.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music education
• Teach additional music courses if aligned with candidate experience and departmental need
• Serve as primary departmental liaison to the PSU College of Education
• Foster relationships with regional music educators
• Participate actively in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students

• Master’s degree in music, music education, or related field
• Demonstrated excellence in scholarship and/or creative activity
• One or more years of teaching as an adjunct, graduate assistant, or faculty member at the collegiate level

• Doctorate degree in music, music education, or related field
• One or more years of experience in secondary‑education teaching
• One or more years of teaching in the area of choral music education
