Job Description

The Family Resource Center, Inc. / Greenbush

Job Summary: Responsible for all activities conducted in the preschool unit, including programming, curriculum planning, child assessments/developmental checklists, staffing, cleaning, food service, toileting, and communications to parents, center staff, and unit staff. This is a ten-month position with additional contact days in other units. The position reports from August 1 to May 31.

Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in early childhood education, special education, or elementary education degree with early childhood endorsement.
  • Valid Kansas Teaching Certificate.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance of the established unit policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Create and implement daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans using the curriculum provided.
  • Complete child assessments as needed and developmental checklists quarterly.
  • Complete various unit forms, records, and MTSS in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain up‑to‑date child portfolio files for each child in class.
  • Schedule and complete quarterly parent/teacher conferences (2 face‑to‑face and 2 written).
  • Assist in the inventory of all needed supplies regularly.
  • Act as a receptionist when receiving visitors to the unit.
  • Receive and dispatch unit communications to pertinent personnel.
  • Participate in designated educational programs, staff training/in‑service, and meetings.
  • Assist with care and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of unit records, reports, and files as required.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of fire, disaster, infection control, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children’s information and knowledge about other employees gained through their positions.
  • Assist in planning and attending two family nights during the school year.
  • Adhere to all center policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Become familiar with NAEYC Standards and implement them in the classroom.
  • Be consistently on time and ready to work at the start of the shift.
  • Demonstrate dependability on the job by adhering to attendance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Support the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center (SEKESC) mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Produce excellent work as requested by the executive team.
  • Assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with literature, research, and practices.
  • Complete all assignments in a time‑sensitive manner as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Meet all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee.
Physical Requirements
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  • Requires long periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments with numerous interruptions.
  • Work in a well‑lit and ventilated area.
  • Hazardous materials, inventory, and MSDS are available in the Director’s office.
  • May be exposed to children with communicable diseases.
  • Work with and around regulated waste.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as needed.

Attendance:
Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.

Director of Early Childhood Services

Terms of Employment:
Salary, work schedule, and vacation to be established by the SEKESC Board of Directors or designee.

Evaluation:
Job performance is to be evaluated annually by the Program Director or designee.

Position Type:

Salary: $40,000 Contract
