Overview
Assembler - Glass 2nd Shift will be working 3:00pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday on assigned production line and will be required to follow SOP for specific job assignment. The assembler will work on orders that require more attention to detail and is required to meet specific deadlines.
Responsibilities- Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
- Ensure materials meet quality expectations
- Label units as needed
- Door assembly is more complex and higher-level skill is needed
- Ensure quality is met
- Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Verifies that components are being placed in the correct position per SOP
- Repeats tasks until assigned other duties
- Cleans up work area when shift ends
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills & knowledge of all door components
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task
- Read and understand bill of materials
- Must be able to lift up to 75+ lbs.
- Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, Square
- May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
- Due to the open environment of the facility, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold
- Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid disruptions in production and customer service
- Follow all operational and safety SOPs as written
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required
- 1-2 years in the field or related area
- Understanding of quality door construction standards and proper assembly techniques
- Prior door manufacturing or wood working experience
