Material Handler, Forklift Operator, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations

As a Material Handler at our Pittsburg facility, you will be responsible for moving, tracking, and staging materials to support production and shipping operations, using both manual processes and material handling equipment.
The position monitors inventory, maintains accurate records, and ensures materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Move, load, and transport materials, freight, and products between storage areas, production floors, and loading docks using hand tools or material‑handling equipment.
- Read work orders to determine material needs, assignments, and priorities.
- Monitor inventory levels, maintain storage areas, and ensure materials are protected and properly staged.
- Maintain and update inventory records and databases manually or using computer systems.
- Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Create work instructions and support training for junior material handlers.
- Coordinate material flow to support production schedules and operational efficiency.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2‑4 years of experience handling materials in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material‑handling equipment (forklift certification required prior to operation).
- Strong understanding of inventory control and material flow processes.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to read work orders and follow established procedures.
- Strong attention to safety, organization, and productivity.
Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip. Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs. This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.
Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment. Work is performed in a manufacturing setting that may not be climate‑controlled and can include exposure to varying temperatures.
