Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible to provide a level of service that is gracious, kind, and warm, creating fondness for the casino guests. The role delivers Hometown Hospitality and Fun, maintains a high standard of cleanliness according to food service sanitation codes, serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, possesses extensive menu knowledge, takes guest orders, anticipates guest needs, delivers orders, and processes payments.
Focus is on departmental goals of consistency, quality, and a sense of urgency.
- Be punctual to pre‑shift meetings with a positive attitude and actively participate.
- Consistently provide Hometown Hospitality and deliver Fun while living the core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community.
- Comply with department standards, guidelines, and objectives, adhering to all Food Service, Sanitation, OSHA, and Hazcom standards and guidelines.
- Wash hands frequently.
- Provide consistent high‑quality food and beverage service to all guests dining in the restaurants by adhering to service sequence standards and using upselling techniques.
- Adhere to all standardized recipes.
- Safeguard company assets and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Maintain and be accountable for all funds entrusted to the bartender on an assigned shift.
- Create teamwork by helping co‑workers with essential functions.
- Balance all money transactions and paperwork.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including strict attendance and appearance guidelines and confidentiality regarding guest information.
- Be alert for fraud, forged or counterfeit currency and/or vouchers.
- Balance all funds under responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports accordingly.
- Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clear and organized work area, cleaning as you go and cleaning spills immediately.
- Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly, ensuring that all chemicals are in properly labeled containers.
- Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away, adhering to the 5S Principles:
Sorted, Set in order, Systematically cleaned, Standardized, and Sustained, and date all items with the current date. - Conduct yourself in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive conduct reflecting on the company’s core values of Fun, Family, and Community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department or company management.
Must have the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs; interpret and follow through on a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions; resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully; be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekend hours, and overtime as business needs dictate; and be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, lift up to 25 lbs.,
reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent.
Required. Prior bartending experience preferred. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. Maintain confidential information.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
- Obtain required license(s).
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcohol, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Members department.
- Have knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with state regulations and systems of internal controls.
