We are seeking a Low Voltage Security Surveillance Technician to install, maintain, and service low‑voltage systems, including cameras, access control, alarms, and related IT/communication infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have experience with low‑voltage systems, a strong technical skill set, and the ability to support sales initiatives with clients. This position requires travel between 10–30% of the time and offers opportunities for training, advancement, and certification support.
- Install, terminate, and test low‑voltage cabling (copper and fiber optics).
- Perform preventative maintenance on cameras, monitors, access control systems, and other hardware.
- Utilize tools such as RJ45 crimpers, fiber splicers, and standard hand tools.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records in accordance with facility requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with low‑voltage security and surveillance systems.
- Follow all safety procedures, including use of protective gear and compliance with company and client policies.
- Support sales efforts by meeting with clients, discussing technical solutions, and recommending appropriate products/services.
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
- 1+ year of experience in low‑voltage installation, service, or maintenance (security, surveillance, access control, or similar systems).
- Working knowledge of fire alarms, door access systems, cameras, and IT networks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel 10–30% of the time.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications such as BICSI, Fiber Optics, or NICET.
- Experience with security surveillance system integration.
- Sales or customer‑facing technical support experience.
High School or GED equivalent
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology
