About the Role
This position is physically demanding and requires working outdoors, at heights, and traveling as needed. If you're a hard worker who enjoys being outdoors and thrives in a team atmosphere, this job is for you. Successful candidates will undergo a drug screen, physical, and criminal background check.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs various duties on construction projects, including:
- Measuring distances from grade stakes, driving stakes, and stretching tight lines.
- Bolting, nailing, aligning, and blocking up under forms.
- Signaling operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
- Leveling earth to fine grade specifications using a pick and shovel.
- Mixing concrete using float, trowel, and screed.
- Positioning, joining, aligning, and sealing pipe sections.
- Erecting scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
- Spraying materials such as water, sand, steam, or paint through hose to clean, coat, or seal crevices.
- Grinding, sanding, or polishing surfaces using abrading tools or machines.
- Performing a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulating materials.
- Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task.
- Obeys and follows all safety rules on the job site and encourages others to do the same.
- Maintains a good relationship with co-workers and works well with others to accomplish a task.
- Physical demands include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally; 40-50 pounds frequently along with frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling.
