A well-established distribution and service organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, processing accounts payable, and assisting with tax filings and reconciliations. OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Process accounts payable invoices, prepare payments, and assist with AP workflow improvements and automation initiatives
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns for multiple states
• Perform daily banking transactions and account reconciliations
• Assist with customer account inquiries and apply customer payments as needed
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support additional accounting and finance projects as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Prior accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
