Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Accountant Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to support monthly close activities and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fundamentals in GAAP, solid Excel skills, and comfort working with large volumes of financial data and data entry.

Experience with merchandise/retail accounting systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple entities

+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

+ Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reporting

+ Assist with budgeting/forecasting through data gathering and analysis

+ Perform and support accurate data entry and maintenance of accounting documentation

+ Review and interpret bank statements; assist with related reconciliations and follow-up

+ Support audit requests: schedules, documentation, and tie-outs

+ Follow internal controls and established accounting procedures

+ Partner with internal teams to gather information and resolve accounting questions

+ Participate in process improvements and accounting system enhancements

+ Provide general support to the Corporate Controller and accounting team as needed

Required Qualifications

+ Accounting background with a general understanding of GAAP, including debits/credits

+ Strong Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and IF statements

+ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

+ Comfortable with data entry and working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively

Preferred / Nice to Have

+

Experience with a merchandise/retail system (especially Island Pacific)

+ 2-4 years of accounting experience and/or a degree in Accounting/Finance
