Entry Level Accountant
Downtown Pittsburgh client is looking to add an Entry Level Accountant to their team. Recent college graduate with an accounting or business degree would be ideal. Position would be onsite. Key Responsibilities include processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and properly authorized. Enter and maintain financial data within accounting systems and process various payment methods. Review, verify, and reconcile financial transactions and payment batches.
Prepare, distribute, and maintain records related to payments and disbursements. Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and analyses to support financial operations. Monitor outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies as needed. Reconcile accounts payable and general ledger balances on a regular basis. Prepare and post journal entries and other accounting adjustments. Maintain accounting records, files, and supporting documentation. Process payment corrections, voids, and other account adjustments.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and regulatory purposes. Assist with tax-related reporting and compliance activities. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes. Review financial statements and reports for accuracy. Provide administrative and accounting support to management as needed. Serve as backup support for other accounting and financial functions. Prepare and reconcile deposits and designated balance sheet accounts.
Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and related reporting. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Participate in meetings, projects, and other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Prior accounting, finance, or administrative experience preferred.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of general office and accounting procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research, gather, organize, and analyze information. Basic mathematical and bookkeeping skills.
