Job Opportunity at RyanRyan is growing our Federal Income Tax Consulting practice—focused on Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740)—across the U.S. We're seeking exceptional professionals at the Manager, Senior Consultant and/or Consultant levels who are currently working in public accounting and ready to take their careers to the next level. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in accounting for income taxes, with hands-on experience in both the preparation and review of domestic and international tax provisions for public and private companies.
In Ryan's flexible work environment, candidates will be considered anywhere in the U.S. for this opportunity. Preferred locations include Dallas, TX;

Job DescriptionThis role requires expertise in U.S. Federal Income Tax to provide income tax consulting services to corporate clients. Depending on level, you may lead, manage, and execute federal income tax consulting engagements to drive value for Ryan's corporate clients or be an individual contributor.
The job description below contains Manager level responsibilities, however, the job duties will vary based on level of role.
Manager ResponsibilitiesPeople:
- Create a positive team member experience.
- Leads team in developing project workplans and scheduling associated project deliverables.
- Acts as a mentor, guiding team members on their career paths.
Client:
- Builds strong relationships with clients and with the firm's leadership.
- Travels to client locations to gather information.
- Performs as the oversight to the quality of work performed by the team for clients.
- Prepares and conducts client presentations.
- Assists with client billing and financial forecasting.
- Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
- When necessary, defends client tax positions in court.

- Manages complex income tax projects, especially in the Tax Accounting Methods area as well as other federal tax planning opportunities

- Prepares Forms 3115 and statements required as project deliverables.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in practice-relevant area with 3+ years practice-relevant experience, including 1+ year of management experience (formal or informal). Must have excellent organization and time management skills, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn and be a team player.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have beginner's knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and LicensesValid driver's license required.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesRequires limited supervisory responsibilities, including training peers and checking work for accuracy and completeness.
Work Environment- Standard indoor working environment.
- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Occasional long periods of standing while copying.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
- Independent travel requirement: 30 to 40%.
