Vice President, Accounting

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Accounting to lead complex accounting operations within a global financial services environment. This role oversees financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting for investment and custody services, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory standards. You will drive process improvements, automation, and data integrity, partner with Finance, Risk, and business leaders, and manage audit relationships.

The role includes leading and developing a high-performing team within a culture of integrity, client focus, and strong risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial statements and regulatory reporting for BNY.
• Oversee month-end and quarter-end close, consolidations, and account reconciliations for global entities.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX compliance standards.
• Partner with Finance, Risk, and Business leaders to provide accounting insight on complex transactions and new products.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and data quality initiatives within the accounting function.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and respond to regulatory and stakeholder inquiries.
• Develop, mentor, and performance-manage a high-performing global accounting team.
• Support strategic projects, including system implementations and integration of new businesses.
