We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions of a multi-entity organization with domestic and international operations. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, consolidation of multiple operating entities, and preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, with significant exposure to intercompany accounting, cost accounting, and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
Schedule:
Full time, in-office role based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
What You'll DoThe Senior Accountant will execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. This role prepares and reviews consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities, including elimination of intercompany transactions and balances, and maintains and reconciles intercompany accounts with domestic and foreign affiliates, including foreign currency translation and remeasurement. The Senior Accountant reconciles balance sheet accounts and investigates discrepancies, assists with supporting schedules for external audits, bank reporting, and covenant compliance packages, and supports sales and use tax, property tax, and other state and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
The role also includes preparing and analyzing monthly management reports with budget to actual variance analysis, documenting and strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and close procedures, and supporting special projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and ad hoc analysis for senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month end close responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CPA license or active CPA candidate
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
- Exposure to foreign currency accounting (ASC 830) and international operations
- Experience supporting external audits and lender reporting
