POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Campus Visit Experience and Enrollment Event Management (CVEEEM) team, the primary purpose of the Enrollment and Event Specialist's job is to greet all enrollment visitors, answer telephone calls, and provide event support for the CVEEEM team. The incumbent will also provide overall clerical support for the Enrollment Management departments. They must always present a positive image as a representative of Duquesne University.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answers multiple phone lines, screens and refers calls, takes messages for office. Provide the front-line assistance utilizing all in-person and digital engagement channels, including, but not limited to, phone calls, visitors, e-mail, live chat, inbox, and Slate and Banner systems. Assists in managing the student ambassadors with campus tours ensuring excellent customer service across the University.
Provide assistance with related tasks for undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, and financial aid during peak seasons of the cycle.
Deliver top-notch customer service to all visitors for the Enrollment Management offices. Greets visitors, answers routine questions and provides a variety of information to guests including distributing maps, bulletins, brochures and related material regarding Duquesne University and the Pittsburgh area.
Provides CVEEEM team with logistical and clerical support for all visits and events. Participates in all special admission events such as DUQ Days, Counselor Visits, Admitted Student Days, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support the functions of a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises student employees only.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience of relevant work experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Banner and/or Slate preferred
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Ability to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm with a positive approach to work and commitment to customer service and to the educational development of students;
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written;
Professional demeanor with the ability to deal with people in a courteous and tactful fashion regardless of circumstances
Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, faculty and staff; sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to the Mission of the University;
Ability to think strategically and work in a complex environment either independently or as part of a team;
Strong information technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and integrated databases;
Ability to exceed recruitment goals, facilitate staff development opportunities, exhibit teamwork, model analytical & critical thinking, engage in creative problem solving and demonstrate high levels of time management and organizational skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
