Overview:

Reporting to the Dean of Health and Human Sciences, this position performs administrative duties for the Dean's office and college administrators. This position also works collaboratively with other staff members to support department-level and school-level operations and activities. This position requires the employee to work Monday - Friday on campus. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required as needed to cover school-related events and activities.

Responsibilities:

* Serves as the primary point of contact for the Dean's office regarding student issues, faculty/staff needs, facility needs, and inquiries from internal/external constituencies.

* Provides secretarial support in the form of answering the phone, distributing mail, ordering office supplies, scheduling meetings/events and performing other office related duties to ensure effective office operations.

* Oversees administrative tasks related to budget and financial management including pulling budget reports, processing purchasing orders and check requests, paying invoices, and handling travel/professional development requests.

* Assists with coordinating school-level events, celebrations, and initiatives as directed.

* Organizes and maintains files related to hiring searches, faculty promotion and reviews, and other administrative documentation that may be confidential to the Dean's office.

* Performs related work as assigned by the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High school diploma required

* Associate degree preferred

* Minimum of three years of experience as an administrative assistant (or similar role), preferably in higher education.

* Excellent customer service skills ,

* Ability to work well in a team environment with faculty, staff and students.

* Detail oriented with strong organizational, communication, and professional skills.

* Proficient technical knowledge including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Willingness to adapt to technology updates and develop additional technical skills.

* Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
