THE POSITION
The Clerical Assistant 3 position with the Department of Environmental Protection is a great chance to support important office operations within the Southwest Regional Office. In this role, you will utilize your organizational skills to keep records, schedules, and public requests running smoothly. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the Central Services Unit by coordinating records, assisting staff, and guiding public requests. You will help ensure that office operations run smoothly and that information is handled accurately and efficiently. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
* Records Management:
Coordinate file reviews, track requests, and support accurate handling of public and internal records
* Staff Guidance:
Train clerical staff, review work for accuracy, and provide direction on office procedures
* Public Assistance:
Respond to questions, schedule file reviews, and explain processes to visitors and callers
* RTKL Processing:
Manage Right-to-Know requests, prepare documentation, and communicate with program staff
* Document Preparation:
Organize files, prepare materials for review, and maintain filing systems across programs
* Office Support:
Sort mail, coordinate shipments, greet visitors, and support front desk and phone operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
* Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
* Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
* One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training.

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.
