Crawford County is looking for a dedicated Clerk Typist 2 to join our Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities teams. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position supports the daily operations of the Mental Health Base Service Unit and Intellectually Disabilities departments by completing clerical tasks that ensure accurate records and timely communication. You will have the opportunity to work with staff, providers, and consumers to keep information organized and services moving efficiently. As a Clerk Typist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Document Processing:
Prepare, type, edit, and proofread documents, reports, and correspondence to support daily operations - Record Maintenance:
Maintain logs, filing systems, and consumer data to keep information organized and up-to-date - Information Entry:
Enter consumer information, eligibility details, and mental health data into required systems - Office Support:
Sort mail, answer phones, assist visitors, and provide coverage for clerical tasks as needed - Meeting Assistance:
Coordinate meeting logistics and prepare materials as requested by supervisors and staff - Confidential Handling:
Follow policies and procedures to manage confidential information and ensure proper release of records
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch. Overtime required as needed.
- Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:

- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
