In 2019, Ward Home joined the Auberle family and has three programs in our Young Adult Services Department.
The 412 Youth Zone is located in downtown Pittsburgh. The program provides comprehensive, welcoming, and youth driven services and support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system or who are experiencing unstable housing.
Position Title and Overview:
Administrative Assistant
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, youth, and community members, providing a welcoming and professional experience.
- Respond to phone, email, and online inquiries, assess needs, and connect individuals with appropriate resources and services.
- Coordinate and support the delivery of program services, referrals, and administrative processes.
- Provide administrative support to program staff and leadership, including scheduling, correspondence, documentation, and other operational needs.
- Maintain accurate program records, data, and files to support reporting, compliance, and evaluation.
- Coordinate office operations, including mail, supplies, and general administrative functions.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of program events, meetings, and staff activities.
- Prepare and distribute program communications and materials, including calendars, newsletters, and other outreach content.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules and support day-to-day operational coordination.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding activities and other human resources administrative functions as assigned.
- Provide basic technology support and coordinate with external IT vendors as needed.
- Conduct research and complete special projects to support program initiatives and organizational priorities.
Location and Travel Requirements:
This position is primarily located in Downtown Pittsburgh. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled. The travel required for this position is occasional.

Qualifications
- Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Valid PA driver's license, vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance may be required.
- Secretarial experience preferred
- Technology skills are required including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Requires working varied hours, including evenings, some weekends and holidays.
- Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to domestic environments.
