Senior Business Process Analyst

Innovu is a growing Pittsburgh, PA-based data analytics company providing comprehensive solutions that enable advisors and their employer clients to optimize their benefits strategy, human capital risk management, and health benefit design.

Position Summary

The Senior Business Process Analyst is an individual contributor role within Innovu's Operations team, reporting directly to the COO. This role exists to identify where operational processes and tooling are underperforming, and to drive the resulting improvements from initial scoping through completed execution — with automation and AI treated as a standing lens applied to every assessment, not a separate initiative.

This role does not own final process approval, but is expected to influence it credibly by building a well-scoped case, aligning the right stakeholders, and holding the plan accountable to defined success metrics and ROI. It requires genuine curiosity for technology and automation — someone without comfort navigating tools or keeping pace with engineering-level conversation would not be successful here.

Operations naturally sits at the intersection of several upstream and downstream workflows — onboarding, product, and marketing among them. This role is expected to use that vantage point to identify cross-functional performance opportunities and bring them forward, without holding ownership or final authority over processes outside of Operations itself.

Key Responsibilities

Process Assessment & Optimization

  • Continuously evaluates existing operational processes across teams for friction, redundancy, or manual effort that could be reduced or eliminated
  • Diagnoses whether the right fix is a tool solution, a process redesign, or both — without defaulting to "more tooling" as the automatic answer
  • Builds the case for change and brings it to functional leaders; does not own final process approval, but is expected to influence it credibly

Tool Operationalization & Adoption

  • Partners with functional leaders to understand how existing tools (e.g., internal workflow and PM platforms) are actually being used day-to-day, not just whether they have been deployed
  • Identifies gaps between intended use and actual use, and drives adoption where it is lagging
  • Feeds real-world usage patterns back to Technology to inform tool tweaks, enhancements, or build-out requests
  • Evaluates whether current tools remain fit for purpose, or whether a change is warranted
  • Uses Operations' natural visibility into upstream and downstream handoffs (e.g., onboarding, product, marketing) to surface where tooling or process gaps are creating friction outside of Operations, and raises those opportunities to the relevant functional leader

Automation & AI-Driven Efficiency

  • Brings automation and AI options into every process and tool assessment as a standing consideration, not a separate initiative
  • Identifies opportunities to improve both efficiency (speed/cost) and effectiveness (quality/outcome) of existing work through automation
  • Partners with Technology on feasibility and implementation, while owning the business case and prioritization rationale

Initiative Structuring & Execution

  • Scopes new opportunities accurately before proposing action — sizing impact, identifying the right stakeholders, and bringing them in at the right time
  • Builds a clear plan for each initiative, including timeline, ownership, and defined success metrics
  • Defines ROI expectations for each initiative and is accountable for tracking progress against them through completion
  • Drives initiatives to execution and closure — this role does not hand off a recommendation and move on
Qualifications

Experience & Background

  • 5+ years in operations, business process improvement, or a related analytical/operational role
  • Demonstrated experience scoping and leading cross-functional initiatives from identification through execution, ideally with measurable ROI or efficiency outcomes attached
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity — able to structure a plan and bring in the right people without a playbook already provided

Technical & Tool Fluency

  • Genuine curiosity for and comfort with technology and automation — able…
