Operations Consultant, Alpha Lab & Venture Platform

Innovation Works is seeking a part-time Operations Consultant to support Alpha Lab and Innovation Works' broader Venture Platform. The consultant will help strengthen the systems, processes, and operating infrastructure that support founders across Alpha Lab and the Innovation Works portfolio. This engagement will focus on improving how company-facing programs and services are organized, delivered, and scaled across the organization.

The ideal consultant combines strong operational and program-management experience with an understanding of startups and founder support. This person should be comfortable moving between hands-on execution and higher-level process improvement, identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, improve consistency, and create a strong founder experience.

The Operations Consultant will support work across several areas, including:

• Program Operations:
  Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Alpha Lab and portfolio programming, including key program processes, calendars, events, workshops, and founder-facing activities.

  Experience:
  
  Help improve how founders navigate Innovation Works programs, resources, systems, and services across Alpha Lab and the broader portfolio.
• Systems & Processes:
  Evaluate and improve operating processes, documentation, playbooks, templates, and workflows to create greater consistency and scalability.
• Portfolio Resources:
  Support the organization and delivery of company-facing resources, community platforms, content, and other services available to Innovation Works portfolio companies.
• Feedback & Improvement:
  Support mechanisms for gathering founder feedback, tracking engagement, identifying recurring needs, and translating those insights into improvements.
• AI-Enabled Operations:
  Use AI and automation as part of the day-to-day work, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, simplify workflows, and enhance how founder support is delivered.

Strong candidates will have experience in some combination of:

• Program management, operations, startup support, customer success, community management, or related work.
• Working with startups, accelerators, venture capital organizations, economic-development organizations, or entrepreneurial ecosystems.
• Managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Building and improving repeatable processes, systems, and workflows.
• Working directly with founders, entrepreneurs, or other external customers.
• Using AI, automation, and technology to improve operating effectiveness.
• Working independently and translating broad objectives into practical execution.

This is a part-time consulting engagement requiring strong judgment, initiative, collaboration, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
