Heavy Civil Superintendent

Position Summary
The Heavy Civil Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations on heavy civil construction projects. This role leads multiple crews and subcontractors across heavy highway, bridge and bridge rehabilitation, earthwork, and paving projects to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multiple field crews and subcontractors
• Oversee construction activities for heavy highway, bridge, bridge rehab, earthwork, and paving scopes
• Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with all jobsite safety requirements
• Review project plans, schedules, and daily work plans with field teams
• Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower needs
• Communicate regularly with project managers and engineers on progress, issues, and changes
• Maintain daily reports, schedules, and field documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil construction projects
• Strong background in heavy highway, bridge and bridge rehabilitation, earthworks, and paving
• Proven ability to lead multiple crews and manage complex field operations
• Solid understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and specifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
