DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position supports bridge maintenance throughout District 9 by coordinating repair plans, assisting county crews, and ensuring projects follow required procedures. As a Bridge Maintenance Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Planning:
Prepare annual bridge maintenance programs and develop repair project lists with material and cost details - Design Coordination:
Work with traffic, environmental, and county personnel to secure permits, materials, and clearances for repair projects - Construction Support:
Provide technical guidance during construction seasons by interpreting drawings and inspecting project progress - Emergency Oversight:
Respond promptly to emergency bridge repairs and assist county crews with needed support - Material Management:
Monitor salvaged material availability and maintain district inventory for bridge maintenance use - Crew Supervision:
Manage custodial and maintenance staff to ensure efficient workflow and safe working conditions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS)
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- Five years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-In-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists ; or
- One year of civil engineering experience in highway design, construction or maintenance related projects and a bachelor's degree with major course work in civil engineering.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
