Associate Producer, Athletics and University Events

Overview:

This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering live productions for Athletics and other campus events. This includes gathering requirements, developing an event plan, setup of the appropriate audio and video equipment, execution of the event plan, and strike of the appropriate equipment. This position reports to the Producer of University Events for assistance with event planning, setup and teardown. This position requires a flexible schedule, with the majority of events occurring on evenings and weekends.

The position is responsible for assisting with the recruiting and training of student and part-time employees for events and has overall responsibility for the success of the events they are responsible for.

Responsibilities:

* Plan, design, and execute video and audio productions for athletic and university events.

* Integrate RMU infrastructure with streaming, social media, broadcast, and radio modes for effective and professional results.

* Determine placement of equipment.

* Test with media partners.

* Ensure capture and transmission runs smoothly.

* Assist the help desk and IT Department with other projects

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

* On occasion may need to drive on behalf of the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree or in-progress degree in Media and Communication, Information Technology, or related field is required.

* * Experience in TV broadcasting and event production.

* Experience with computer and software support repair and troubleshooting.

* Knowledge of signal flow and communication systems, cabling, and devices.

* Ability to understand, setup, and support production equipment for events.

* Demonstrated ability to solve problems without discretion, complete tasks on time, and handle multiple priorities.

* Must be able to work flexible hours, be on call, and work in a team environment to support other IT department projects.

* Valid driver's license or the ability to have reliable transportation to travel on behalf of the university is required.
