Position: Multimedia Coordinator (Part-time)

Multimedia Coordinator (Part-time)

The Multimedia Coordinator is a hands-on creative role for someone who loves visual storytelling, content development and live entertainment. The Multimedia Coordinator helps bring the Pittsburgh Playhouse & Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) to life through social, digital, print and multimedia platforms. From performances and rehearsals to backstage moments, student achievements, artist interviews and community events, this part-time position captures and creates the materials and tells the stories audiences experience before, during and after each event from playbills, advertising and email campaigns to photography, video, social media and behind-the-scenes content.

Working closely with the Managing Director of Marketing & Communications, Pittsburgh Playhouse & COPA and the Marketing Manager, Pittsburgh Playhouse, the Multimedia Coordinator develops brand consistent content that engages audiences, drives ticket sales, supports donor engagement, enrollment and community relations, and strengthens the visibility of the Pittsburgh Playhouse and COPA. Responsibilities include graphic design, playbill development, gathering, organizing and editing production materials (both print and visual), copywriting and proofreading, photography and videography, photo, video, and audio editing, social media content, and other creative assets.

The ideal candidate is equal parts creative storyteller, content creator and detail-oriented producer; someone who can transform information, images, and moments into polished, engaging content. They are just as comfortable developing a playbill from submitted materials and polishing copy as they are designing campaign graphics, capturing a rehearsal, editing a reel or spotting the unexpected backstage moment audiences will want to share.

This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating with students, faculty, artists, and patrons, and can capture and share authentic moments that bring the Pittsburgh Playhouse experience to life.

Regular daytime office availability is required, along with frequent evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to capture performances, rehearsals, special events, media opportunities, and community activities. This role requires flexibility to adjust work hours, and location as needed while ensuring all responsibilities, deadlines, meetings, and event obligations are consistently completed in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Film, Photography, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. The candidate should have 2-4 years of experience creating digital media, social media content, photography, and video production. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and graphic design tools:
Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Canva is required. Experience creating short-form content for Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, Tik Tok, and emerging digital platforms as well as creating podcasts is also necessary. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines is essential. Evening, weekend, holiday, and daytime office availability required based on performance and operational schedules. Ability to flex work hours and work location as needed while ensuring responsibilities and deadlines are completed in a timely and professional manner.

Duties and responsibilities include digital content creation & social media (35%), graphic design, playbills & marketing content (35%), multimedia production (20%), and event coverage & department support (10%).
