This is an 8-week seasonal position that starts in November and ends in late-December/early-January.
GENERAL
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Membership Manager, the Seasonal Membership Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Membership department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver high quality customer service to members and ticket buyers over the phone and by email. Answer phones and respond to all voicemails and emails received within one business day.Sell memberships and tickets over the phone.Fulfill orders for mailed and emailed gift memberships. Assist customers with questions about gift memberships and sell gift memberships over the phone.Update and maintain customer relationship management software, making any necessary changes to constituent contact information, membership records, and ticket orders.Send digital and physical membership cards.Represent Phipps in a positive and welcoming manner.Perform other duties as required.KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIESREQUIRED
Considerable knowledge of computers.Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.Considerable knowledge of word processing/typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading and language skills.Ability to communicate and respond both in person and over the phone to the general public, volunteers, staff and board in a pleasant and courteous manner.Ability to handle confidential material, exercise initiative and display sound judgment.Ability to use fundraising software.Ability to proofread typed materials for grammar, spelling and structure.Ability to type 40-60 words per minute.Accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and work independently.Ability to operate office machinery such as personal computers, postage machines, copiers, etc.Ability to work under deadlines and stress.Ability to provide own transportation to perform duties.PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SENSORY DIMENSIONS
Physical mobility: sitting, standing, walking, lifting/carrying objects up to 30 pounds; manual dexterity to operate keyboard.Mental effort: reading, writing, analyzing, scheduling, organizing and planning.Sensory requirement:
Ability to communicate and respond both in person and over the phone to the general public, staff and volunteers in a friendly manner.WORKING CONDITIONS
Evening and weekend work required.Will have to on occasion work in or pass through any area of the Conservatory or growing houses.MINIMUM POSITION GUIDELINES (Education, Experience and Certification)
Business school or high school diploma with two years’ office experience.Experience with customer relationship management software a plus.Revisions, additions or deletions to this job description may be made at any point.
