Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our award-winning healthcare client is seeking an experienced Data Literacy Instructional Specialist II to support the enterprise-wide launch of Power BI. This contract role is focused primarily on designing and developing high-quality, scalable learning content that enables users across the organization—from data consumers to aspiring Power BI developers—to confidently use analytics in their day-to-day work.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on Power BI expertise, strong instructional design capabilities, and experience supporting large-scale analytics or self-service BI rollouts. This individual will work closely with data literacy leadership, project stakeholders, and Power BI subject matter experts to translate complex analytics concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible learning experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of learning objectives and determine how instructional design and technology can best support those goals.
  • Identify opportunities for new Data Literacy initiatives and analytics tool-specific training.
  • Serve as a Data Literacy subject matter expert through participation in professional networks, conferences, and work groups.
  • Own the delivery and lifecycle of a defined pillar within the Data Literacy program, including impact metrics, ROI reporting, and executive-level summaries.
  • Assess existing educational resources (internal and external) and expand them into sustainable, reusable Data Literacy assets for multiple learner personas.
  • Support Data Literacy marketing and engagement efforts, including speaking engagements, blog posts, and other promotional initiatives.
  • Conduct user interviews to understand learner needs, challenges, and levels of data proficiency.
  • Design, enhance, and deliver Data Literacy products such as courses, curricula, learning modules, and learner personas.
  • Apply instructional design best practices to meet learners where they are on their data literacy journey.
  • Partner proactively with data and analytics subject matter experts to develop, validate, and refine training content.
  • Facilitate virtual (and occasional in-person) training sessions for a wide range of audiences, including support staff, clinicians, and executive leaders.
  • Pilot learning materials, gather feedback, and continuously improve content based on evaluations and learner input.
  • Build trusted relationships with learners that encourage ongoing growth and adoption of analytics tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in instructional design, training delivery, curriculum development, eLearning, or related fields.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in data and analytics (e.g., data analytics, data science, data integration, data management, statistical programming, software development, or equivalent).
  • At least 1 year of experience using instructional and visual design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate/Storyline, Captivate, or Vyond.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI and its integration within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, Power Platform).
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage large and diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience implementing and evaluating enterprise-wide training or education programs.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, eLearning strategies, LMS management, and computer-based training development.
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a computational, mathematical, scientific, or data-related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in business, education, data science, public health, or a related quantitative field.
