The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Long-Term Substitute German Teacher at Jefferson and Mellon Middle Schools for the start of the school year.
This is a full-time, on-site, temporary vacancy, from August 12, 2026, through October 2, 2026 (36 days).
Due to the length of the assignment, this position will be eligible for the degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule with rates starting at $297 per day depending upon credential.
This position will not be eligible for paid time off or district subsidized health benefits.
Required:
Active Instructional Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in German PK-12.
Applicants with pending certifications through the PA Department of Education will be considered with college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations.

In order to be eligible for employment in Pennsylvania public schools, the following clearances, trainings, and forms are required by the District at the time of hire:
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)
Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting (Act 126)
Arrest or Conviction Form PDE 6004 (Act 24)
School Personnel Health Record & TB Test
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
