POSITION SUMMARY:

Employee must be a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives inan upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. A self-motivated,enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation,organizational, and interpersonal skills and will have demonstrated ability tofollow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities and meet goals.

This is a sales-like admissions and prospect management approach to adesignated recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned tothem. Daily responsibilities includecommunication with a large number of prospective students through heavy phoneoutreach. Personal e-mails, notes, individual appointments, and grouppresentations are also expected. This position will involve the planning of prospective student recruitment activities, extensive outreach and travel.

The Senior Assistant Director serves as a representative of Duquesne University at bothon- and off-campus recruitment events, helps to design, implement and executeundergraduate recruitment strategies and manages long-term admission goals inan assigned area as directed by the Admissions leadership team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruiting undergraduate students and increasing the visibility of Duquesne University within recruitment territory to achieve enrollment objectives:

Communicates witha large volume of prospective students through outbound phone calling, textmessaging, personal emails, handwritten notes, individual appointments(in-person and virtual), and the regular use of arsenal (both printed and web information as well as members of the campus community - i.e., faculty, alumni,current students, coaches and parents of current students).

Cultivates,engages, grades, persuades and closes prospective students, qualifying conversations and generating next steps (visit, apply, file FAFSA, submit enrollment deposit, submit housing application, register for classes, etc.).

Leads groupinformation sessions and meets one-on-one with prospective students and parentsas well as gives campus tours as needed.

Developsmeaningful relationships with alumni, school counselors and other constituent sin recruitment territory.

Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to effectively communicate regarding all aspects of Duquesne University, including but not limited to mission, core values,policies, academic programs, student life, outcomes, athletics, housing,financial aid, billing, advising, etc.

Makes financial planning calls.

Reports on aregular and ongoing basis to enrollment management leadership regarding all recruitment activities utilizing data from Banner, Slate, Power BI, etc.

Makes informed decisions to improve recruitment tactics and further develop visibility and recruitment strategy and takes a "solutions-oriented" approach topartner with supervisor to solve challenges that arise.

Provides guidance, mentorship and counsel to newer staff and steps in for supervisors and assumes interim roles when necessary.

Communicatesactively and effectively with colleagues and partners across campus.

Liaises with/supports application review process for assigned territory and school(s) or program(s).

Evaluatesundergraduate applicants' academic credentials/participates in the admission decision-making process, including awarding of appropriate scholarships.

Coordinates and executes a recruitment travel plan inclusive of college fairs, high school visits, information sessions and regional receptions. Travel may occur on weekdays and weekends.

Projects and manages travel budget on a university procurement card.

Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution.

1-3 years of relevant work experience.

Valid PA Drivers License.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

A valid driver'slicense is required.

Demonstratedplanning and organizational skills to accommodate multiple priorities.

Exceptional leadership, customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, both oraland written.

Effective public speaking and presentation skills.

Fluency in Spanish preferred.
