Schedule:
7.00 Hours/Day (8:15 am-3:45 pm) Monday-Friday 195 Days/Year - Early Intervention follows a stretch calendar that includes a summer session.
Minimum Annual Salary: $76,138 (Master's Level - preferred)
Position EligibilityThis position is open to both Pennsylvania-certified Special Education teachers and Pennsylvania-certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with experience serving preschool-aged children.
Purpose of PositionTo assist the administrators of the Early Intervention Program with child find activities, evaluation processes, and coordination of early intervention and special education services for young children. The position provides expertise in supporting the developmental, educational, communication, and/or feeding needs of preschool-aged children through collaboration with families, educators, related service providers, and community agencies to ensure effective early intervention programming.
Knowledge & Skill RequirementsEducation Required:
- For Teacher candidates, a Master's degree preferred OR significant classroom experience in lieu of a Master's degree.
- For Speech-Language Pathology candidates, a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
Certification
Required:
- Special Education Certification, PreK grade scope; OR
- Special
Education:
Speech and Language Impaired PK-12 (Instructional Certificate); OR School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12 (Educational Specialist Certificate).
Experience
Required:
Minimum of three years
Travel Required: Regular travel to multiple locations using a personal vehicle is required
Essential Physical RequirementThe strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting pupils of ages ranging from pre-school to the age of beginners and their assistive appliances. Considerable bending, stooping, and squatting must be tolerated, as well as the ability to possibly restrain students in emotional stress.
