Position Summary & Description
The Department of Management at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applicants for anticipated part-time, temporary faculty position(s) for the Fall 2026 semester.
The department seeks candidates whose teaching, research, and/or service have prepared them to serve all IUP students.
Teaching- Successful candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered in person, online or through distance education, or at one of our other locations. Courses may include:
- BCOM 321 – Business and Interpersonal Communications
- Explores communication theory and principles as applied to business situations and practices; development of skills in areas of communication such as speaking, writing, listening, and nonverbal communication. Emphasizes building effective interpersonal relations in a business environment.
- BCOM 321 – Business and Interpersonal Communications
- Other duties involve participating in departmental committees and advising students.
- The successful candidate may be asked to work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education asynchronously and/or synchronously through zoom technology.
Required:
- • Terminal degree in the discipline or related field, OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of related professional experience in the discipline.
- • Experience teaching in college setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Faculty members are expected to:
- Teach courses assigned by the department chair in accordance with departmental, college, and university scheduling requirements.
- Conduct classes for the required contact hours each academic term and administer final examinations or equivalent assessments as required.
- Present course content effectively using instructional methods appropriate to the discipline and learning objectives.
- Evaluate student performance accurately, fairly, and in a timely manner.
- Perform activities associated with laboratory instruction, fieldwork, studio courses, clinical assignments, or other experiential learning environments, when applicable.
- Maintain expertise in the discipline through ongoing scholarly, research, creative, and/or professional activities.
- Engage in service activities that support the department, college, university, profession, and community, as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders in both written and oral formats.
- Adhere to university policies, academic standards, and professional expectations.
