Extended Substitute Teacher
North Allegheny School District is one of the highest performing public school districts in Pennsylvania and recognized nationally for its focus on academic achievement and growth, future preparation, school climate and student and staff wellness. Located just north of Pittsburgh, it is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County with over 8,500 students. We are seeking a Pennsylvania Certified Teacher to work as an Extended Substitute at North Allegheny Intermediate School from the start of the school year until the December 23, 2026.
The candidate must hold a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in General Science, Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics. The ideal candidate is adaptable, dependable and educated. The teacher will establish a program and a class environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth by providing rich and engaging experiences. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students, motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for learning, in accordance with each student's ability, and creates and maintains good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Bachelor's Degree and a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in General Science, Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics are required. Current clearances including Child Abuse History Clearance PA Criminal Record Check FBI Fingerprint Clearance Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training are required and if you have already obtained these clearances, they must be within one (1) year of hire date. Placeholder letters for pending certificates from a college/university are accepted until the Instructional I certificate is received.
Compensation is as follows:
Days 1-30 (non-consecutive): $120.00/day 31+ Consecutive Days: 70% of Step One (1) in the collective bargaining agreement. This posting will remain open until filled. North Allegheny School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
