Job Summary
The custom-designed major senior capstone mentor provides oversight and guidance to a student as they work on their individualized capstone project. The mentor will lend their expertise in helping to develop, execute, and assess the student's capstone project.
Essential Functions
- Providing active guidance in constructing and overseeing a course of study/research that will create a robust capstone experience as a culmination of the student’s individual CSDN curriculum.
- This includes helping their mentee navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise during the 3-terms.
- Giving constructive feedback, both positive and critical, in real-time to the student.
- Meeting (in-person, Zoom, etc.) with their mentee a minimum of three times per term to check on their progress in the capstone project.
- This may include sharing the responsibility of scheduling with their mentees.
- Regularly reporting on student progress to CSDN staff at the end of each term via a short evaluation form distributed by the CSDN staff.
- Maintaining communication and responding to email.
- Attending their mentee’s final capstone presentation, which takes place during their final term of capstone research.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree.
- Analytic:
Non-standardized and widely varied work and establish and review broad objectives relative to duties/responsibilities. - Problems solving involves identification and analysis of diverse problems.
- Multiple professional skills/external expert.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time Temporary position classified as Non-Exempt.
The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
