Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher
The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for a long-term substitute special education teacher at Howe Elementary School. This is a full-time, on-site, temporary assignment from August 12, 2026, through October 9, 2026, an anticipated 41 day assignment. Due to the length of the assignment, this position will be paid the degree level daily rate at step 1 of the teachers' salary schedule with rates starting at $297 per day depending upon credential.
This position will not be eligible for paid time off or district subsidized health benefits.
Required:
Active instructional certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in special education that is inclusive of grades K-5.
Additional employment requirements include the following clearances:
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34), and FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114). The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:
Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24), School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test), and Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168).
