A vacancy exists for a Long-term Substitute Early Intervention Itinerant Teacher to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services Early Intervention at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. This position provides services to children ages 3-5 years old.
Qualifications:
- Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-12/Special Education PK-8required
- Valid PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 (N-3) preferred
- Experience as a classroom teacher required
- Experience working as a member of an educational team
- Experience with 3-5 year old population preferred
- Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, instruction and classroom management.
- Responsible for IEP's.
- Align early childhood classroom instruction with PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood Education.
- Integrate and collaborate to plan instruction with a physical, occupational and speech therapist to provide a comprehensive developmental instructional program for young children.
- Maintain and establish ongoing regular communication with families about classroom learning and student progress.
- Provide oversight and case management of student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Evaluation/Re-evaluation reports.
- Gather evidence and data about student progress towards learning outcomes.
Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA. Our Early Intervention Program is split on school district lines into four (4) regions within Montgomery County. This position requires travel throughout one of the four regions. Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12 months (194 days/year)
Salary:
Bachelor's, Step 1: $55,194/year
Master's, Step 1: $66,508/year
* Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
