• Contribute to gas/flame/refrigerant leak detectors, industrial/construction worker gear and firefighter equipment, with various sensor technologies (e.g. environmental sensing, location, thermal imaging, infrared/lasers).
• Work in an IoT style ecosystem of physical/digital products with wireless and wired connectivity (e.g. AWS, cellular, GNSS, BLE).
• Contribute to safety-critical software (SIL, security) and understand the customer needs to connect them to technical, hardware/software problem solving on a day-to-day basis.

  Skills and Abilities
  
  Required: Understanding of the software lifecycle and the challenges and complexities that arise during a typical development cycle.
• Strong technical skills in designing and implementing software that fits the need, including within the constraints of hardware.
• Ability to communicate well, including empathy for other viewpoints and helping move towards resolution that is best for the company and team.
• Industry experience with:
  • Microcontroller-based devices (FreeRTOS, ARM) with sensors
  • Modern software development/quality (git, C/C++/Python, unit testing, static analysis, automated integration testing, interface simulators, build/release)
• Preferred: Experience with wired and wireless communications protocols (BLE, etc.), working close to the hardware, embedded security approaches.
• Education and Experience Required: BSCE, BSEE or relevant technical discipline, preferably from an ABET or similarly accredited program.
• This position is available at two different career levels based upon experience and education:
  • Staff II: 2 years of relevant industry experience minimum
  • Staff III: 4 years of relevant industry experience minimum
• MS degree may be substituted for up to 1 year of relevant experience.
