The Facilities Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for all mechanical infrastructure/systems, existing and new, particularly in the design, coordination, installation, and auditing of Fume-Dust collection and ventilation systems. The role ensures operating efficiency, proper maintenance, and compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements for all systems at Victaulic’s production facilities domestically and globally.

• Design, select, and install equipment for Collection/Process Ventilation systems for Foundry Dust and General Fume Collection/Ventilation type systems.
• Balance plants, specify equipment, and install Dust collection systems, Make‑up air systems, general ventilation systems, and ductwork design and installation.
• Develop global standards and procedures for hand‑off to manufacturing operations, including standard work instructions, compliance control plans, and standard O&M procedures and documentation.
• Manage projects by efficiently collaborating with manufacturing operations, safety, environmental, quality, accounting, sourcing, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Audit, support, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards and requirements.

• Design, select, and install equipment for compressed air and cooling water systems, including piping, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with practical experience.

  Skills:
  
  3‑5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing facilities environment; foundry experience is a plus.
• Strong background in the design, development, and installation of plant ventilation and dust/fume collection systems.
• Knowledge of ACGIH industrial ventilation standards and practices.
• Knowledge of pipe sizing for compressed air, natural gas, water systems and related equipment (plus).
• Ability to read, interpret, and create drawings, specifications, and other information required to support design and development of construction documentation from concept through full implementation.
• General knowledge of, or ability to learn, national and local building codes, environmental, OSHA, and other applicable domestic and international codes.
• Experience working with outside contractors, including competitive bid processes, responding to RFIs, issuing addendums, and processing change orders.
• Basic knowledge of architectural, civil, electrical, environmental, and foundry operations is beneficial.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, or related project management software.
• Personal Attributes: Strong skills in equipment/process design, problem solving, and new process development, with the ability to multitask multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good organization and communication skills, capable of working effectively independently or with teams.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours to support facility/plant emergencies and to collaborate with project teams domestically and internationally across time zones.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
