About the Role

12 months contract

Responsibilities
  • Execute Hardware Tests:
    Run established procedures on PCBs, embedded systems, and prototypes following detailed technical instructions.
  • Debug & Troubleshoot:
    Perform initial failure analysis to identify root causes of hardware or software anomalies using tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Build Test Rigs:
    Design and assemble mechanical test setups using hand tools, aluminum extrusions, and creative "scrappy" techniques.
  • Manage Data & Labs:
    Monitor tests at internal and external labs to ensure correct data capture and maintain the operational readiness of all equipment.
  • Document & Report:
    Log meticulous defect notes in tracking systems and prepare concise reports summarizing test progress and key findings.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
    Work closely with Design, Firmware, and Mechanical teams to communicate results and verify fixes for identified issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical, Computer Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in either ME or EE, with a solid working knowledge of the other.
  • Experience using Python for automating repetitive tasks, analyzing data, and working within larger testing frameworks.
  • Lab Equipment Knowledge:
    Hands-on experience with thermal chambers, vibration tables, power supplies, DAQs, and electronic loads.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, networking, and common communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD).
  • Familiarity with test/operation of brushless motors.
  • Prior experience in a professional lab setting or significant hands-on experience with complex hardware projects.
