As an Engineer Sr., you will conduct technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design and construction of new and existing facilities, and research on new developments, applying your strong understanding of industry and operational requirements. Taking initiative and anticipating customer needs will make you a stand-out player. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are also vital in this role!
Leads early project development and technical execution for capital projects (e.g., compressor stations, expansions, plant optimization), ensuring cost-effective, operable designs aligned with business needs.
Core Accountabilities
- Define project scope and lead front-end development
- Provide technical oversight through design, construction, and startup
- Serve as key interface across Operations, Engineering, PMs, and Construction
Key Focus Areas
- Project Definition:
Scope development, site validation, constructability - Technical Oversight:
Review designs (P&IDs, equipment, layouts) and ensure standards - Execution Support:
Support bids, resolve field issues, assist commissioning/startup - Cost & Efficiency:
Drive early cost discipline and optimize performance/reliability - Cross-Functional Leadership:
Translate operational needs into practical designs
- Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment
- May supervise the work of others
- Demonstrates technical expertise in a specialty, geographic area, or operational function and applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of large-scope projects
- Prepares and delivers presentations
- Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes or services
- Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
- Champions processes, procedures and safety standards
- Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Required:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry - Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE Certification
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
- Preferred:
Project Management experience
