Entry Level Civil Engineer

Onsite in Pittsburgh, PA. Local candidates only!! Oxford Solutions has an engineering client in the Pittsburgh, PA area looking for an entry level Civil Engineer with an EIT and construction internship experience. This role will focus on supporting Municipal Engineering projects, including the design, development, and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as water, sewage, transportation, and public facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to start their career and gain hands-on experience in the municipal sector.

Essential functions

• Support senior engineers in conducting field investigations, surveys, and project site inspections.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, plans, and cost estimates.
• Perform technical calculations and analyses related to civil engineering projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
• Assist in ensuring projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project details.
• Conduct research and stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in municipal engineering.

The background of the Civil Engineer should include the following:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Associate degree combined with field experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification strongly preferred
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency with AutoCAD and civil engineering design software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with municipal codes, standards, and regulations is a plus.
