- Effectively troubleshoot electrical, PLC/HMI and networking issues when equipment is down for production.
- Self‑manage multiple medium‑to‑large scale automation projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
- Report status on a weekly basis.
- Participate in designing, developing and maintaining company automation standards in SCADA/HMI/PLC programming.
- Develop full‑scale electrical/networking diagrams for large‑scale projects in AutoCAD or Solid Works.
- Develop technical documentation such as technical user manuals and detailed design specification documents.
- Continuously research with automation vendors on sensors, controls and testing equipment for potential projects and upgrades on existing automation systems.
- Maintain, update and back up SQL and historian databases for enterprise operation on a weekly basis.
- Design, develop, test and maintain automation solutions in electrical and software across various process areas.
- Be responsible for troubleshooting a live Energy Cube (1000
VDC) electrical connection and component issues with a multimeter. - Troubleshoot and upgrade AC‑DC inverters and/or DC power supplies for Energy Cube testing.
- Work on PLC/HMI/SCADA/server/electrical applications at any time, sometimes remotely (night, weekend or holiday) aligned with production downtime.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- Able to design, develop, test and maintain large‑scale automation solutions.
- Minimum 8years of hands‑on experience with PLC and HMI or SCADA programming.
- Minimum 5years of robotic‑arm programming experience interfacing with PLC; preferred Fanuc programming skills.
- Minimum 5years of experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS485 and CIP safety protocols.
- Minimum 8years of experience in hands‑on 24
VDC, 120
VAC, 480
VAC troubleshooting. - Comfortable troubleshooting 1000
VDC electrical circuitry and components. - Proficient in Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) PLC/HMI/SCADA, Fanuc robot arms, MES, historian server and SQL database solutions.
- Certificate in Lean‑Six‑Sigma and high‑level language programming experience such as C++ will be a plus.
- Proficient with LOTO procedures and GAMP5 guidelines.
- Good understanding of NEC, IBC and NFPA.
- Good communication and documentation skills with MS Office products in URS, FRS, DDS and FAT processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering required.
- Minimum 8years of related experience required.
- Local and overnight travel within North America may be required less than 10% of the time.
- Office environment: must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- May be required to exert up to 25pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Factory hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, temperature changes, chemicals, fumes, dust, mists and gases.
- Noise level can be loud.
- Use of safety equipment (eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, lab coats) required.
- May require lifting up to 40pounds occasionally.
